Ravellenic Games....

I have been sucked in!  LOL  I am going to knit a pair of Hard Candy Socks that the lovely Rilana designed.  The pattern reminds me of Lafayette from True Blood.  Perfect,  considering I am on Team True Blood.  I am using Heart & Sole by Red Heart.  The color is Razzle Dazzle.  Its kinda dark for Laf inspired socks,  but the name of the color makes me think of him.

I really don't work well with time constrants,  so we will see what happens.  Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!  I will try to update sock progress this weekend.  If not,  have a great weekend!!

Hitchhiker at 50%.....

I have 50% of Hitchhiker completed.  It is a very brainless project.  Super easy.  I think it looks great in the yarn I chose.

The colors are darker than the pic shows.  Have a great Thursday everyone!!

WIP Wednesday

I started recently working on a Hitchhiker shawl.  I love it!  It is made using fingering yarn and garter stitch.  Super squishy!  I am using Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in Nevermore.  I have 10 "teeth" done.  Sorry for the dark pic,  this yarn is almost impossible to photograph correctly.

Not too much going on really.  Been quite quiet around here.  Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Family BBQ Pics......

On Sunday,  we had a family BBQ we went to.  Steve's sister,  brother-in-law,  niece and nephew were up from AZ.  It was great to see them,  haven't in a few years.  Can't believe how big the kids are getting.  So,  here are some pics of the BBQ.

Steve and his nephew Hunter.

Steve and his sister Danielle.

Hunter and my son Timothy.

Steve and his niece Koryn.

Timothy & Koryn.

In other news,  nothing much has been going on.  I haven't really been knitting.  Mostly reading.  Which is okay.  It has been VERY humid here lately,  which drains every last bit of energy out of me.

I have an appointment with Brynn (my tattoo artist),  to have my sleeve started.  I am going in on August 18th.  I am bouncing.  I am so excited.  I am giving Brynn free-reign when it comes to the sleeve.  The only requests I have made were:  A classy pin-up girl and a possible peacock.  Who knows though!  LOL

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday,  and talk to you soon!!!

Healed Tattoo....

My tattoo is totally healed.  It looks awesome.  It needs to be touched up,  but that will be done in a few weeks.  I am going to set up an appointment for Brynn to start my sleeve.  I am shooting for the middle of August.  It will be a WIP,  but I am okay with that.  Here is a pic of my healed tattoo.

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

I Have Been Sucked In......

By the pattern,  Sock Yarn Blanket.  I started it yesterday.  I have 6 mitered squares done.  They are like Lay's Potato Chips,  you can't make just one.

Sorry for the craptastic pic.....Its the best I could do with Bean trying to take off them.

It has been HOT here.  High 80s with really high humidity.  I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!!!

Beginnings Of An Urban Bat.....

I started a sweater!  WOOT!  After the diaster that was the CPH,  I was/am nervous about making a sweater.  Then I saw the pattern for the Urban Bat Sweater.  My bestest friend,  Rilana, designed it.  Instant love!!!  It is knit with Caron's Simply Soft.  Plus,  it is knit in the round!  SCORE!

My local A.C. Moore had Simply Soft on sale this week,  2 for $5.  So it cost me $12.50 + tax for the yarn.  Not bad.  Only downside,  their selection was destroyed!   I got the last 4 skeins of black,  and there was NO purple.  I ended up getting Ocean instead.  It is a pretty blue/teal color.  I am about 4" into it.

So,  without further ado.........Beginnings Of An Urban Bat!!!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday!!!!!

Sock Loom

I ended up buying a Knitting Board Sock Loom.  It is adjustable,  which I like.  I bought it at Joann's with a 50% off coupon.  I ended up paying $13 after tax.  I think I am going to really going to like it.  I will post a review after I start a sock.  I will watch the DVD this afternoon.  Wish me luck!!!

My New Tattoo....

I am so happy!  I went today and got my Lymphoma Cancer ribbon with my N.E.D. date under it.  I went to Imperial Art Studio in Tonawanda on Sheridan Dr.  I LOVE IT!  Brynn did a fantastic job on it.  It is on the outside of my left calf,  about 4" above my ankle.  Sorry about the blood spots......I was just excited to show it off!

New Kindle Skin...

I got my new Decal Girl skin in today.  Its for my Kindle 4.  The design is called Stacked Cats.  I love it.  My Kindle is no longer naked  :)

Before it is installed.

Front of Kindle with skin on.

Back of Kindle with skin on.

Yesterday was pretty boring.  The only interesting thing I did,  was ended up going to 3 stores to find A&D ointment for my tattoo,  that I will be getting on Tuesday.

Happy Thursday everyone!

I already have my 2nd pair planned out.  They are going to be a pair of Simply Ginny Socks.  I am going to use a skein of Chroma Fingering in Lollipop for them.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

26 Pair Plunge......

Yesterday started the 26 Pair Plunge.  I am going to try like heck to make 26 pairs of socks over the course of the next year.  I decided to start with any easy pair of Ankle Socks.  I started knitting on the first sock yesterday.  I finished it this morning.  This pair is for my mother.  I am using Knit Pick's Felici in the Mixed Berries colorway on size 2 needles.

I am quite happy.  I just hope I can complete my challenge.  Happy Monday everyone!

Little Of This....Little Of That.....

Today's posting is a little bit of everything......Yesterday,  it was almost 90 degrees here.....Humidity was through the roof also.  So for dinner,  I made a HUGE salad.  It was really good.

It had lettuce,  celery,  cubed ham,  cubed cheese,  tomatoes,  radishes,  pickles and egg.  I added some Kalamata olives to mine........

I want to show you what I have up on my wall.  I won this at an auction on FB.  I love it!  Its actually a queen sheet,  but it makes a perfect tapestry.

Last but not least,  I was a bad girl.  I went to a different Joann's today.  I got a skein of Lion Brand Sock-Ease,  2 skeins of Paton's Kroy Sock,  a skein of Serenity Sock.  Plus,  a Boye Rosewood circ size 8,  and 2 Boye Rosewood Crochet Hooks,  size H and I.  I paid a total of $21 with sales tax.

The circs aren't pictured. I pulled them out already.  LOL  I hope everyone has a great weekend,  and try to stay cool!

Mitts & Yarn Finds.....

I finished my 1st Elphaba mitt!  WOOT!  I love it!  I am really proud of myself!!!

I also went to Joann's last night.  I found out they are having a HUGE clearance sale,  with an additional 50% off clearance items.  I got 6 skeins of sock yarn for $9.30 with tax.  So,  each pair of socks is $3.10!  I got 2 skeins of Heart & Sole by Red Heart.  I got 4 skeins of Soles & More by Joanns.  I am estatic!  The four skeins on the right are the Soles & More.  2 on the right is the Red Heart.

WIP Wednesday.....

I am slowly working on my Elphaba mitts.  Its hard for me to balance reading on my Kindle and knitting.  I am addicted to the Carpathian series by Christine Feehan.  I am on book 3. So,  I am finally starting the thumb on my mitts.  I love them in this yarn.

I will leave you another cute picture of Bean.  Happy Hump-day everyone!!

Attack of Bean....

Gah!  I forgot what it was like to have a kitten in the house.  Bean is something else.  She plays hard,  then she just stops,  and falls over asleep.  Literally,  just stops & falls over.  I think she has a sleeping disorder!  LOL  Right now,  she is trying to climb my shower curtain.  This picture is her playing with the air.  It is just her,  I didn't pose her or anything.  No toys involved or anything.

Funny story,  right after we got her,  I was searching the apartment for her.  Couldn't find her anywhere.  POOF! GONE!  About 20 minutes of searching,  I hear a small meow.  I look up,  and she is laying ON TOP of my curtain rod!!  She was stuck and couldn't get down.  She has no fear!!!!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!!

Today is mine and Steve's 12 year wedding anniversary.  We went to a breakfast buffet and he surprised me with a yellow mini-rose bush!  Happy anniversary love!

Isn't it pretty???

I will leave you with a picture of Bean.  She now knows what the camera is,  and is now a total HAM!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Elphaba Mitts....

I am currently knitting a pair of fingerless gloves.  The pattern is called Elphaba.  In an earlier post,  I mentioned all the single skeins of Felici I bought,  this pattern is perfect for them.  When we moved at the beginning of month,  we changed from landlord controlled heat,  to electric baseboard heat.  So,  I am going to need some fingerless gloves to keep my hands warm this winter.  I guess I am trying to get a jump on it.  LOL  The color I am using is called Minty.  I also upped the needle size to a 2 1/2.  My friend,  Rilana,  made a pair of these on a size 2,  and they are a little snug.  Since we have the same size hands,  I upped the needle.  So,  here is the beginning 20 rows of my Elphaba's.

Aren't the colors pretty?  There is also a silvery gray that I haven't gotten to yet.  The pattern is very well-written and easy to follow.

Boring Few Days....

Just a quick note to say,  nothing much is going on!  Saturday night we took Steve's dad and mom out to dinner for Father's Day.  My poor husband ended up with a glass of Mountain Dew on his lap.  The waitress dumped the tray,  and luckily only the Dew went over.  Unfortunately for Steve,  it landed on his lap.  I couldn't help it,  I laughed my A** off.......

Sunday,  I ended up recuperating from Saturday.  We didn't get home until almost 11 pm.  Monday and today was more of the same.

I have been reading an awful lot lately.  My best friend Rilana,  has been sending me books like a mad woman.  LOL  She is blowing up my email.  Thanks Lani!  I appreciate each and every one!

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day!  I will update soon......With pics next time.....LOL

Little Bit Of Shopping.....

Last night,  Steve and I went to Target and my local mall.  While we were walking around Target,  I walked through the shoe dept.  They had Converse One Star sneakers,  on clearance for $17.48!  SCORE!!  I got a pink pair.......

Pretty pink Converse!

At the mall,  we went into Bath & Body Works.  They are having a HUGE sale.  Body washes and lotions on sale for $3 or $4.......

We got 7 body washes for $26.10.  We saved $51!   From left to right on the bottom:  Black Raspberry Vanilla,  Cucumber Melon,  Enchanted Orchid,  Dancing Waters.  From left to right across the top:  Pink Chiffon,  Mango Mandarin,  Twilight Woods.

I LOVE Bath and Body Works!  I only use their body wash and lotion.  I am addicted.  LOL  Have a great weekend all!!

I Love Getting Packages.....

Knit Picks rocks!  Now that I have said that......WOOT!  My yarn is here!  I ordered it last Friday (the 8th),  and I got it today.  Not bad.  I ordered alot of single skeins (13 of them!) of Felici Fingering.  It was on sale,  and I love ankle socks.  So it was a win-win.  I also had a coupon code for a FREE skein of Brava acrylic.  I got the sport weight Brava in Soltice Heather.  It is super soft.  Well,  here is a picture of  my yarn haul.....

Sorry the picture is so dark.  Even with the flash on,  it still came out dark.  :(

I Am Mental!

For those who know me well,  you know this statement isn't too far off on a good day.  Well,  I think I went off the deep end!  The reason?  I signed up,  on Ravelry,  for the 26-pair-plunge.  What is that you ask?  Basically,  I make 26 pairs of socks in a year.  Which equals out to be 1 sock a week or 2 pairs a month,  plus 2 more pairs.  EEP!  It starts on July 1st,  so my blog will be busy with sock knitting over the next year.  I will need some encouragement though.  So please, help me by becoming a cheerleader for me......LOL

I will leave you with a picture of Bean.  She was trying to be cute last night.  Please don't tell her she succeeded.  It will go right to her head,  and she already has a large enough ego!  Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Aren't I cute?

Bean....

We adopted a kitten a few weeks ago.  We named her "Bean".  She is a freaking Jumping Bean.  I thought kittens slept alot.  NOPE.  Not her.  So,  here is a pic of our Bean.....

In crafty news,  the First Fall of Knitty is up.  I think this is best Knitty that has been posted in a while.  My friend Rilana and I are going to knit Unleaving together.  Kind of a KAL.  If you want to join us,  feel free!  The more the merrier.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!!!

Garage Sale Finds.....

I went to some garage sales with my mother-in-law and Steve on Saturday.  It was raining at a pretty good clip when we started.  Which is fine,  people are willing to make deals when the weather isn't in their favor.  So,  here are some of my finds for Saturday....

I bought a bag that included 2 half-finished spool knitting rugs.  Both of them had spools attached.  The woman I got them from said her grandmother,  who recently died at 100 years old,  was working on these when she passed.  I paid $3 for the giant bag.  Here is the round one.....

Close up of the round rug.

This is the oval rug on the left.  On the right is a ball with the yarn already "spooled",  just waiting to be attached.  Also,  some extra green yarn.

I bought this Tiny Tailor sewing machine by Singer for $3,  she was asking $5.  It is a really basic sewing machine.  It has on and off.  LOL  But it is so cute.  It only weighs a couple of pounds.....

One of the many things I collect.  Old wooden cigar boxes.  I love them for ribbons,  buttons etc.  I got both of these for .50 cents each.  $1 total.  Love them.

I also got a few other things,  but these were my favorite "finds".  Have you ever found anything you are proud of?

What A Week....

This week has been so busy!  We got our taxes back on Wednesday.  Stevie bought  me couple presents......

1st is this amazing journal from Oberon Design.  It is absolutely gorgeous!  The flash washed out the color.  Its an amazing green.  The color is so rich!  He also bought me 2 refills for it.

The 2nd is a PS3!  WOOT!  I actually returned Little Big Planet.....It was cute,  but not really my cup of tea.....I ended up getting LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Uncharted 2.....I still have Skyrim and the game guide.  I am kinda nervous about starting Skyrim though.  I heard it is so addictive........

I am waiting for one more present.  I am not going to spoil it,  but when it come in,  I will surely post a pic.....

I also got an amazing card from my friend Rilana.  It is so funny!  Thanks Lani!  I really needed the smile  :)

Edward Update

I actually worked on Rilana's Edward this weekend!  WOOT!  LOL  Anyway,  here he is at 76 rows done or 76% completed.  I have 1 more row then I start the gold color for his eyes.  I thought this was a good place to stop and take a picture.   He is coming out absolutely amazing!  I am actually very surprised.  I didn't really do anything this weekend.  It was cold and snowy here all weekend.  Ick!  Oh well.  Hope everyone has a great Monday!!!

Dr Who Scarf

I haven't touched my Dr Who Scarf~Season 12 since December.  I pulled it back out yesterday and worked on it,  perfect no-brainer project.  I am about 75% done.  This one is for Steve.  I will be making myself one.

The damn thing is super long!  I haven't measured it,  I need too.  The scarf is made with Vanna's Choice yarn.  I had to switch a couple of colors,  since I couldn't find Toffee and Burgundy.  So I used honey and Eggplant.  I really like it.  What is going to kill me is the fringe....GAH!  I hate fringe   LOL

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Sorry...

I haven't been around for a few days.  I am fighting off a wicked head cold.  I feel like I am underwater.  UGH!  I hate feeling like this :(

I have not touched anything,  other than my Kindle Touch,  in days.  I hate not working on anything crafty.

I am not going to complain about this subject,  but ever since the new line of Kindles have come out (beginning of November),  there has been 300-600 FREE Kindle books per day.  That is a crap-ton to go through.  I love eReaderIQ to check out the free books.  It shows the cover and you can set it so it shows the genre also.  I love the fact that Amazon is doing this for their customers.

I still haven't gotten all my collections set-up again.  It is literally taking me forever!

I saw this picture today,  and I love it.  I would SO be a crazy cat-lady if I could.  I hope everyone has a happy humpday!

Weekend....

I did absolutely nothing this weekend.  LOL  I ran a few errands,  and I ended up having to re-do my Kindle.  It wouldn't index,  so I had to deregister it,  re-register it,  than proceed to remake ALL my collections!  It sucked!  And I am still not done.....GRRRRR....

I ended reading most of the day yesterday.  Other than that one glitch with my Kindle Touch,  I love it!  I may end up getting another skin for it.  This one is starting to drive me batty!  LOL

I was reading Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks.  I got the 1st 3 books in the series,  as a bundle for $7.96.  Not bad if you ask me!  I am really enjoying the series.  I got the 4th one free awhile back,  so I guess it was time.  LOL

I need to work on Edward,  but I am fighting a stuffy nose and a sore throat.  UGH!  I hate this time of year.  It seems like I am sick from October to April every year.  No joke.

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Just For Giggles....

I don't have any project updates today.  I was lazy yesterday and didn't touch anything!  I read some of my fanfiction,  didn't even touch any yarn until I went to Walmart and got the the yarn for my Hogwarts Bunch Blanket.  My brain needed a break!  LOL

So,  for giggles today I took a picture of the back of Edward.  For those of you who don't know,  for every single color change,  you cut and tie the yarn into a square knot.  Luckily,  there is no weaving in all those ends!!  Well,  here is the pic.....

Its not the prettiest,  but it works.  I like the fact you can still see what the piece is!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Yesterday.....

It was 40 degrees and we had grass showing.  Today,  I wake up to this.  This is the scene out my bedroom window.  According to the weatherman,  we are supposed to get between 4-8" before this is over tomorrow morning.  Yippee!  *insert eye roll here*

I am hoping the roads will be okay to go to Walmart tonight.  I need to get my yarn for my Harry Potter Bunch Blanket.  I will not start it yet,  but I will soon.  I either need to get Edward or Hello Pitbull off my hook first.

Speaking of Hello Pitbull,  I only did 12 rows yesterday.  I wasn't really feeling like working on it.  But,  I did manage to get up to 50% or 50 rows.  So I am okay with that.

He is coming out quite cute.  His collar and tongue are now showing....LOL  I am about 5 rows away from his nose.

Try to stay warm everyone.  What are you going to do today??

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Edward Update....

Edward is currently at 50% or 50 rows done.  I am so surprised.  He is looking absolutely awesome!  I am loving him in the blues.  You can actually tell its going to be Robert Pattinson now.  I just hope Rilana likes him.

I am thinking of putting some velcro tabs on the top so she can hang him up,  after he makes his cross-country trek from WNY to the Pacific NW.  LOL  Now that I think about it,  that is funny.  Twilight is set in Forks WA.  He is being sent to Portland OR.  Don't know why,  but it is funny to me  :)

In other news,  its cold,  rainy and dreary here today.  Tomorrow the weatherman is calling for a "lake effect snow event".  Yippee.....The joys of living in a suburb of Buffalo NY.

I am going to work on Hello Pitbull today.  I will post progress pictures tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Hello Pitbull

Well,  I worked on my Hello Pitbull yesterday.  He is 38% done,  or 38 rows in.  He is looking really cute!  I am really happy with him.  rebecca 182 on Rav gave me the graph for him.  Its my 1st time really working from a graph and not having written instructions to fall back on.  But so far,  so good.

In other news,  I have the 9 patterns for the Hogwarts Bunch Blanket printed out.  I am going this weekend to get the yarn.  RHSS in shades of blue.  I really like the way the blues look.

Today is "work on Edward day."  I will post a progress picture of him tomorrow.

Also,  in the totallee group on Ravelry,  she will be doing a mystery CAL starting around the 24th.  EEP!  Too much to do,  too little time......Who needs sleep anyway???
