Edward Update

I actually worked on Rilana's Edward this weekend!  WOOT!  LOL  Anyway,  here he is at 76 rows done or 76% completed.  I have 1 more row then I start the gold color for his eyes.  I thought this was a good place to stop and take a picture.   He is coming out absolutely amazing!  I am actually very surprised.  I didn't really do anything this weekend.  It was cold and snowy here all weekend.  Ick!  Oh well.  Hope everyone has a great Monday!!!

Dr Who Scarf

I haven't touched my Dr Who Scarf~Season 12 since December.  I pulled it back out yesterday and worked on it,  perfect no-brainer project.  I am about 75% done.  This one is for Steve.  I will be making myself one.

The damn thing is super long!  I haven't measured it,  I need too.  The scarf is made with Vanna's Choice yarn.  I had to switch a couple of colors,  since I couldn't find Toffee and Burgundy.  So I used honey and Eggplant.  I really like it.  What is going to kill me is the fringe....GAH!  I hate fringe   LOL

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Sorry...

I haven't been around for a few days.  I am fighting off a wicked head cold.  I feel like I am underwater.  UGH!  I hate feeling like this :(

I have not touched anything,  other than my Kindle Touch,  in days.  I hate not working on anything crafty.

I am not going to complain about this subject,  but ever since the new line of Kindles have come out (beginning of November),  there has been 300-600 FREE Kindle books per day.  That is a crap-ton to go through.  I love eReaderIQ to check out the free books.  It shows the cover and you can set it so it shows the genre also.  I love the fact that Amazon is doing this for their customers.

I still haven't gotten all my collections set-up again.  It is literally taking me forever!

I saw this picture today,  and I love it.  I would SO be a crazy cat-lady if I could.  I hope everyone has a happy humpday!

Weekend....

I did absolutely nothing this weekend.  LOL  I ran a few errands,  and I ended up having to re-do my Kindle.  It wouldn't index,  so I had to deregister it,  re-register it,  than proceed to remake ALL my collections!  It sucked!  And I am still not done.....GRRRRR....

I ended reading most of the day yesterday.  Other than that one glitch with my Kindle Touch,  I love it!  I may end up getting another skin for it.  This one is starting to drive me batty!  LOL

I was reading Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks.  I got the 1st 3 books in the series,  as a bundle for $7.96.  Not bad if you ask me!  I am really enjoying the series.  I got the 4th one free awhile back,  so I guess it was time.  LOL

I need to work on Edward,  but I am fighting a stuffy nose and a sore throat.  UGH!  I hate this time of year.  It seems like I am sick from October to April every year.  No joke.

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Just For Giggles....

I don't have any project updates today.  I was lazy yesterday and didn't touch anything!  I read some of my fanfiction,  didn't even touch any yarn until I went to Walmart and got the the yarn for my Hogwarts Bunch Blanket.  My brain needed a break!  LOL

So,  for giggles today I took a picture of the back of Edward.  For those of you who don't know,  for every single color change,  you cut and tie the yarn into a square knot.  Luckily,  there is no weaving in all those ends!!  Well,  here is the pic.....

Its not the prettiest,  but it works.  I like the fact you can still see what the piece is!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Yesterday.....

It was 40 degrees and we had grass showing.  Today,  I wake up to this.  This is the scene out my bedroom window.  According to the weatherman,  we are supposed to get between 4-8" before this is over tomorrow morning.  Yippee!  *insert eye roll here*

I am hoping the roads will be okay to go to Walmart tonight.  I need to get my yarn for my Harry Potter Bunch Blanket.  I will not start it yet,  but I will soon.  I either need to get Edward or Hello Pitbull off my hook first.

Speaking of Hello Pitbull,  I only did 12 rows yesterday.  I wasn't really feeling like working on it.  But,  I did manage to get up to 50% or 50 rows.  So I am okay with that.

He is coming out quite cute.  His collar and tongue are now showing....LOL  I am about 5 rows away from his nose.

Try to stay warm everyone.  What are you going to do today??

Edward Update....

Edward is currently at 50% or 50 rows done.  I am so surprised.  He is looking absolutely awesome!  I am loving him in the blues.  You can actually tell its going to be Robert Pattinson now.  I just hope Rilana likes him.

I am thinking of putting some velcro tabs on the top so she can hang him up,  after he makes his cross-country trek from WNY to the Pacific NW.  LOL  Now that I think about it,  that is funny.  Twilight is set in Forks WA.  He is being sent to Portland OR.  Don't know why,  but it is funny to me  :)

In other news,  its cold,  rainy and dreary here today.  Tomorrow the weatherman is calling for a "lake effect snow event".  Yippee.....The joys of living in a suburb of Buffalo NY.

I am going to work on Hello Pitbull today.  I will post progress pictures tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Hello Pitbull

Well,  I worked on my Hello Pitbull yesterday.  He is 38% done,  or 38 rows in.  He is looking really cute!  I am really happy with him.  rebecca 182 on Rav gave me the graph for him.  Its my 1st time really working from a graph and not having written instructions to fall back on.  But so far,  so good.

In other news,  I have the 9 patterns for the Hogwarts Bunch Blanket printed out.  I am going this weekend to get the yarn.  RHSS in shades of blue.  I really like the way the blues look.

Today is "work on Edward day."  I will post a progress picture of him tomorrow.

Also,  in the totallee group on Ravelry,  she will be doing a mystery CAL starting around the 24th.  EEP!  Too much to do,  too little time......Who needs sleep anyway???

Edward Progress

I am currently 25 rows or 25% into Lani's CBN Edward.  He doesn't really look like much yet.....But he looks pretty good I think.

Once I finish Edward,  I am going to start a Hogwart's Bunch Blanket.  Its for me,  so it'll be a "pick-up-put-down" project.

I also have another project OTH right now.  Its a Hello Pitbull.  rebecca182 from Ravelry emailed me the graph she made last night.  The one I am making doesn't have the eye patch,  but he is just so darn cute!  I will post progress pics of him later.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.  What are you working on today???

What A Weekend....

My demo for CBN didn't go as planned.  Handed out quite a few flyers,  and got asked if I wanted to do a craft show with my CBN pieces.  The show is in November,  so I have time to get a few pieces done before then.

Lani's Edward is coming along.  I am 12 rows in.  Looking good in the blues,  even though it doesn't look like anything yet.  I will post some pics tomorrow.

I started a Jacob yesterday,  but I think I screwed it up.  So it may have to go into the frog pond.

I don't have to much to write about today.  I will write more tomorrow.....

Elvis....

is now a pillow!  YAY!  I finished it up last night,  but didn't have a chance to get pics until today.  I am not overally happy with my "stuffing" job,  but it turned out ok.

I have a promo/demo set-up for tomorrow at 1pm at the Hobby Lobby at Walden & Dick Rds in Buffalo.  Plus a class set-up for next Friday from 6-8 pm at the same location.  If you are in the area,  stop by!

UPS.....

Brought me a present!  LOL  Not really,  I paid for it, but still!  My Herrschners order is here.  I ordered some Red Heart yarn for a few CBN projects.  Herrschners is the only place I can get all the shades of browns.  The ones on the bottom left are actually Aran,  not white as they look.

Onto other CBN news.  I maybe possibly doing a demo/promo on Saturday.  Not sure when or where yet,  but I will keep you guys updated.

Also,  one of my closest friends,  Rilana,  loves Edward from Twilight.  So,  I am going to be making her this one.  But he will be in shades of blue.  I hope she likes him!  I need a CBN project to work on during the demo,  so this will fit the bill!

Book Review: Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

I finished Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick last night.  I loved this book.  It started out kinda slow,  and it was really hard to follow.  But after a few chapters,  it really came together.  Nora is the ultimate "good girl" until Patch comes into her life.  She is very attracted to Patch,  but he also makes her uncomfortable.  She knows that he isn't good for her,  but she can't stop herself.  Its like an invisible thread holds them together.

Someone (actually 2 someones) is trying to kill Nora.  Her best friend Vee,  honestly believes it Patch.  Nora questions herself,  and Patch.

I don't want to give away too much information with this book.  It is a YA/Paranormal read.  I give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5.  I will definately be reading the next 2 in the series.

New Project....

Nope,  not a CBN.  Socks!  LOL  The pattern is Oregon Grape Socks.  My friend,  Rilana,  is a knitwear designer and this pattern is hers.  I love it.  Very pretty.  Feminine without being overly girly.  I am knitting them in Knit Pick's Stroll Tonal in Springtime.  The pic is very washed out.  The color is very bright and happy.  I need that right now.

Its been snowing off and on since last night.  We had 65+ mph wind gusts last night.  The Southern Tier is getting hammered with snow.  We only got a little over an inch.  The temp is supposed to drop like a rock.  High of 15 tomorrow.....BRRRRR....Going to make a big crockpot full of chili to chase the chill away.  I hope everyone has a great week.

A Knight's Vengeance Book Review....

Yesterday, I finished A Knight's Vengeance by Katherine Kean.  I picked this book up as a freebie,  but don't let that dissuade you from getting this book.  I kind of "waffled" about whether or not I liked it.  But,  as the story progressed and the characters personalities came out more,  I enjoyed it immensely.  Elizabeth is a very headstrong woman for the age the book was written for.   I never really warmed up to Geoffery though.  He just seemed too wrapped up in his own personal revenge against Elizabeth's father.  But still,  I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope you have a wonderful 2012.  Steve and I had a lazy weekend.  He was off,  so we didn't really do anything.  Didn't even watch the ball drop!  Ah well!

I have a large roast in my crockpot for sandwiches.  YUM!  I have a kind-of "weird" recipe for it.  Take your roast and put it in your crockpot.  Take 2 cups of water and mix into it a pkt of ranch dressing mix,  a pkt of brown gravy mix and a pkt of italian dressing mix.  Mix it together really well.  Pour over roast.  Cook on low for 6-8 hrs.  Done!  It sounds weird/strange,  but trust me,  its really good!

Well,  thats about it for now.  I will be starting another CBN project tomorrow.  Will post pics when it starts to progress.
